Is 3 way linking still better?

If I do a redirect from A to B would Google frown upon it in anyway?

I have been adding links for people to site B In order to get links from them to site A.

This has in the past, I believe made my links more powerful and it has shown.

However not so much any more..
Im thinking if Google looks at my site and sees site A pointing at a site with a lot of links on it (site B) it will consider it site A's directory. And there for weaken links to site A (not effecting PR).

So my question is,

If I do a redirect from A to B would Google frown upon it in anyway?

Thanks!

I've often wondered about using this tactic, so I'd be interested to know if any of the more experienced members know...

whether the links are worth more i Google's eyes
whether Google would twig

Cheers

I've always wondered if Google records links for people to PAGE B In order to get links from them to PAGE A. We hear so much about Google not favoring cross linking but do they really spider the whole site and check for crosslinking across different pages?

Since the search results are based on single pages not whole sites I am just curious.

Pure speculation here, but I imagine that in addition to maintaining data on page-to-page linking, Google also maintains data on domain-to-domain linking and devalues excessive linking and reciprocal linking between domains.

Suggy:

I have found in the past that this linking method was much more effective.

After all from Googles view, if another site is linking to yours but you dont link to them, the link most likely is there because that webmaster believes your site is a genuine good resource, not because he/she is adding any old links just to build link popularity.

But 3 way and 1 way linking has caught on, and I believe Google has got smart to it.
So to go one step further Im thinking...

If SITEA.COM links to SITEA.COM/directory then SITEA.COM/directory redirects to SITEB.COM I dont think Google can then pick up on it.
BUT does Google look down on redirects, or this linking method?
