Changing IP address smoothly

Going to try this again
As my 1st post was not posted from yesteday morning
I hope this one is allowed, as though I find old threads on this subject, I can not fine current info
That is why I come Here.

Its time for a server change, and our co-locate , will not let us change servers, and keep the same IP :(
Google spiders come to our sites daily, and we don't want to have any problems switching to a new IP for them.
(last time we did this 2 years ago, it took them a long time to come back)

Does Google spiders pick up the IP change, currently with no problems?

We can't afford a drop off now, so if there is a chance we will loose some ranking, or have problems with the new IP, we may have to gut it out on the old server

Any advice?
