I am a new webmaster. I have been trying to get my page to show up in google for anything that resembles a keyword for about 4 months. I have read many of the great articles posted here and on other sites, and I have attempted to follow the proper steps. One very common theme I saw was to get lots of good links, preferably with anchor text. The question I have is why when I look at some #1 google ranking, pr7+ sites, they only have 5 back links and all of them have very bad PR.
Anyone understand how this could happen?
