On a particular page I have 2 lines of text somewhere in the middle of the page.
Line one says: blue widgets: link 1
Line two says: green widgets: link 2
Both phrases have less than 1000 results in the SERPS. The page is indexed and the text is showing in the cache. So one would presume that the page should show up at least somewhere in the results for both phrases. But it doesn't. It shows up for blue widgets (conclusion: no penalty for this page) but is nowhere to be found for green widgets. And I mean nowhere. There are only 11 results form 9 different sites with the standard dup filter applied. This page has no dup and thus can't be filtered out for that reason. It doesn't show up with filter=0 either. Almost all results are from 1 (legit) site.
It does however show up for 'widget blue green' so Google is aware of the word on the page. Hm.. there are now 43 pages showing now from some 30 sites with filter=1 ...
Hmm.. could it be that Google is overlooking sites for a specific search because of the *so many* results form one particular site? Or for any other reason?
