What did I do right? Stop External Link Leaking?

For one of my old, none SEOed site, Google used to sent only 1-2 per day. Now, it is about 20. Here is something I did, and about the only thing I did to the site: Removing Affiliate Links.

I used to have those CJ, LK links on 302 Redirects. I changed them to cloaked links, which means they are no longer LEAKING. So on my site, I don't have any page with an external link.

I didn't do enough test comparing how SERP does on the same content with external links and without them. I hope it is not just one of those unique key phrases triggered the jump of traffics, or maybe just thanksgiving traffics.

from reading about googles love of doorway pages and directories.. why would they want to send people to dead ends with no outbound links?

what do you mean by cloaked? redirects?
