For a long time I believed that Search Engines, specially Google, couldn't read URLs past certain punctuation (eg?, &, =) and spaces.
So, to make SE friendly site we always avoided having them on the URLs.
I posted my website on a forum with a gap in the website address http:// www.mysite.com rather than www.mysite.com just completed doing some searches in google and actually I found some pages indexed that had punctuation and eben 1 page that had a space on the URL (%20)

I was wondering is google crawling dynamic pages now?
Even completely non SE friendly pages with spaces?

Or was that one just an exception and probably google would index A LOT more pages of the site if I got rid of punctuation and spaces? Does anyone know how to cure this. Two people have already contacted me with this problem.

Thanks look forward to your views

Hi getintouni,

You can count on major search engines (inc. google) to be able to crawl dynamic pages.
Although im not sure for pages with %20 spaces, i assumed that you were asking about the page filename.
Punctuation will be ok until a certain point, it seems that you should not send more than 3 types of infos in your URL at a time, just look at this forum, it is crawled on regular basis.

Its probably anyway a good idea to parse the URL to make it appear like a static html when it's possible or when the queries on dynamic pages are too long.
