Google in five years

I like hypothesising about things, but something dawned on me the other day - maybe google are not making a browser at all, but an "operating" system.

Instead of the bios loading windows, it loads the google browser and everything is run via a html interface. Google has already proved that it can make a faster, more efficient web-based email program than Outlook and Outlook Express. It has already begun integrating it's search with Windows, via the desktop search.

Surely Microsoft must be pretty scared as this threat is coming from a company who offer their services for free; an ideal Microsoft consider very alien.
