Things like 20 domains with exactly the same content all linking to me 20-50 times on each page. These show up as URL only links in Google which leads me to believe THEY have been penalised but I am certain that Google will not attribute any penalty to me as there is no way of telling if I did it to try and boost my ranking or whether a competitor did it to try and discredit me on Google.
I guess I'm really trying to start a thread to help those webmasters that jump on here saying that they have been dropped in ranking due to activities by other competitor webmasters. I'm convinced that there isn't much OTHER PEOPLE can do to influence YOUR ranking on Google negatively (other than the obvious content stealing and URL hi-jacking).
and by the way duplicate those ar$%^&*ls pages with a mete refresh to an #*$! site ,use a copy softwear ,download there pages upload with the #*$! meterefresh and lets see how long they will survive
PS use a freeweb host to do that
Either a bad speller or a lousy typist...
What if there is too much junk backlinks that Google even ignore those True links that you think *should* count? In order words what if Google treat those links that you think is good as *junk* links?
Google promise webmaster that they won't "penalise" someone from what are done by other webmasters. But we don't have CIA or SPY in GooglePlex to confirm this. They can say one thing and another thing. They do this for their good and your good, so you don't need to *worry* so much on what they do on you. While they continue to improve their search engine algorithmn.
If Google has a perfect Algorithmn, there will be no SPAM.
If Google has a perfect Algorithmn, it won't need to go IPO for money.
If Google has a perfect Algorithmn, no more research is require and thus Bharat, Brin, Page can quit their job.
If Google has a perfect Algorithmn, they don't need to post a "submit to Google" guidelines that tell people to get some backlinks first, don't place important text in images, put important keywords in the page, maximum 100 links per page, etc.
If Google has a perfect Algorithm ....
internetheaven, there have been cases of one competitor succeeding in getting another player smushed, but it's pretty rare. I believe that G last year sometime actually amended their site to acknowledge that it can happen. Unfortunately there will always be dirty tricksters out there, especially in the really hot cat's.
