I just noticed that when i do a search in google for allinurl:mycompetition.com there are about 56 results, what is interesting is that when i click on any of the results their links are nowhere to be found and on top of that many of results are at very large sites like amazon.

Can someone explin....

Welcome to the wonderful world of spam.

It's difficult to say exactly what is going on here, but my guess is that you're coming across cloaked spam sites that are Amazon affiliates.

"allinurl:" just looks for a url with the search phrase in it. If you are trying to limit your search to your competitors website, use "site:"

I had also done a site:mycompetition.com search adn they only had six results. They have a very large amount of very good content and as far as I can tell it isn't duplicate conent, so it suprises me that they only have six urls in, especially since a couple of them are things like 'terms of use' and 'advertising' and 'privacy policy'.

Is it possible because of the spam that they are engaging in that google is not indexing their pages?
