Using a hidden layer that calls a script

Hello,

I need to call a server side script from a Javascript.

Since I don't want my page to act strange, I will place that serverside script call into a hidden layer that will be executed by a Javascript.

Lots of web sites use hidden layers for displaying menues or other interactive uses. So I guess doing this is ok.

Is that penalized by Google?

Is there a better way?
