So I have a website with a number of pages. A main front page and then subserviant pages coming off this main page.
The point is that I only ever want users to come to my site through the main front page. In this way - I only ever want the main front page to be listed in google search results. I don't want any of the subserviant pages to be listed in google search results - such that people might first enter the site through these. Is this possible? How would I go about doing this?
Would any possible action disadvantage me in terms of ranking? I mean the front page is not going to be information rich - just nice and pretty. The information is actually going to be in the subserviant pages. So, if these pages are relevant for the search query - I definitely want my website listed - just going through the first information poor, but pretty, page first.
When google assesses a site - does it put any more stress on the first page for relevance than the subsequent pages?
