Changes in the Israeli version of Google

A sign for the future?

I noticed some changes in the Israeli version of Google.

Search results now appear with a link to their google directory entry, and adWords ads now appear with a relevance bar next to them (they also appear with a colorful background which changes every search). There are also some additional cosmetic changes.

Am I missing something, or is it a sign for future changes in the English version?

It seems that there is a mini-google-dance in the Israeli google (google.co.il). When I refresh the results several times, the results rotate between the old style google, and the new style google.

Now if you search for a word that appears in a google-directory category, the category appears at the top of the search page.

I like the fact that they added a relevance factor for the adWords (I wonder how they determine it), and that they painted them in colors (they stand out more).

It's also nice to see the google directory category with the regular search results.

I also see the directory cats sites are in in the regular SERPs, not just the top of the page.

Yes, they appear next to SERPs that have a google-directory entry.

The colors of the new AdWords boxes change each time you refresh. It's like a rainbow... I feel like I'm back in the 70's...

I like this... I hope this is the future... :-)

Now all they need to do is start creating their own directory and ditch DMOZ forever!

Surely this isn't the future.. it's the past - this is how google used to be!

You mean when it was at its best? ;)

Well, bringing the situation back to where it was is sometimes a move forward. It's much better this way.

I also notice there is never an invitation to download the Google Toolbar... do you think this has any significance?
