Hello Good Day to all.

I have been following position for one of my client site, I found some strange results. For hardly two keywords sites is positioned in Google, but this is for very short period.

Within seconds it disappears and my site isnt displayed at all, and some times in page 2 or 3. Again for some time it comes to Page 1. Why so? did anyone faced the same?

I am really very confused with this, I am not able to take proper modifications could anyone suggest me?

Happens to me all the time. Quite annoying when checking refferals from logs and am nowhere to be found in this second but happily sitting there the other second.

Hello

Huh its really annoying, how shall we convince our clients about this? Simply saying Google is under update will be bull#*$! answer, I am not able to decide on new projects too.

Any thing ligitimate we can show to our client regarding Google and its unusual behaviour?

Swings in position are quite normal. Google gets its results from many servers that are constantly being updated. So depending on which server you get your results from you could get a different position with practically every page refresh. Nothing strange or new about the behavior.

Yes, but many believe this to be deliberate. As you will see, the position bounces back and forth to exactly the same positions over the days/weeks so this is a random selection of results rather than an error during an update.

It stops ranking factors being able to be determined as the results keep changing. This makes the original steps to high ranking more important that working out the flavour of the month.

Thanks to all,

Its right that it is normal but it's not quite same with all site. Some of my site is stagnent in SERP but for some site results still varies, even after 3-4 months of time.

If the results keeps chaning in such faster rate what could be the use of Search Engine then? I dont agree with Google dispalying results from different servers. A site which ranks high at my end may be no where at your end? So how can we determine the technique to get site on top in Google?
