Duplicate (ish) content

Will Google see this as duplicate content

I currently sell widgets online to the UK market but recently have been toying with the idea of selling in Europe and converting my sites into a number of languages (French, German, Spanish, Italian etc) and putting these different language versions of the site on different domains (widgets.fr, widgets.de etc)

The design of these sites would all be identical but would just be in different languages. To help with backlinking these sites would all be interlinked.

My question is whether doing this will cause Google (and other SE's for that matter) to see all these sites as duplicate or similar content and ban them all or whether it would be quite happy indexing them. If it is the latter then I may even be able to increase PR as my banklinks increase.
