I am close to getting an on-topic link from a PR8 site of very high authority to a new site that I am marketing. The link itself will come from a PR6 page dedicated to describing my site, and with only one external link to that same site.

The general phlosophy is that the PR of the link page is what is important. However, the research I have been doing has shown instances in which it seems that the domain's root PR can influence the value of the link page, even if that page has a PR0 (i.e., it may be exist on a dynamic page, etc.).

In my market, I feel that this link would characterize my site as the most credible from a subjective standpoint, as established competitive sites have many more incoming links, but none from such an authoritative source. I am not concerned so much with what my PR will be, as with any well-founded opinions as to the importance of the "upsteram" PR of this site and its link to mine.
