The affiliate page was ranking top 20 for thousands of keywords for several months, and improving steadily. Traffic then went into 'turbo' mode for about 5 days in early September, and then, suddenly, dropped off to 0.
The PR on both sites went down to 0 and has been that way for about a week now.
Meanwhile, the www.widget.com site, which never ranked well, became even harder to find. When I look at the cached result, I get this thing called 'supplemental result' and the cached date is posted as 2/24/2004. If I sift through things, I also see other internal pages cached very recently, and, additionally, I see another www.widget.com homepage result with a cache of 9/10/04.
What do you guys think?
