Brand new site and Page Ranking

How long does it take to get any page rank?

I have a brand new site (launched about 5 weeks ago) and I am wondering when I will start to see some of my backlinks show up and a page ranking. I've read here that the directory has been updated (and I can see that it has), but no word of a backlink or PR update yet.

I've got about 20 link partners and am working steadily on more. One of my link parnters is a PR 7, four are PR5 and the rest are PR 4 or 3. The PR 7 site has actually put links to my site on about eight other pages (lucky me) for free because she wanted to help me! :-)

My site has good content already and new content is being added daily (lots of helpful articles), so I'm wondering if I stay faithful to getting more partners and adding more great content, how long will I have to wait before I gain a great position in the SERPS?
