I know some people discussed invisible text here. I know if some site just put some hot 'keyword' invisible in ther page , especially when these keyword is not related to their sites. I hate this kind of behavior.
What I want to know is more and more people use .JSP and .NET design their applications and web sites. Most of these applications use lots of server side stuff, that means google may hate these hyper link with a javascript style functions . So if I put some link look like a static link and only for spider like google , msn... otherwise spider would never reach these pages. Is it Ok or not?
(I feel web sites living with search engines are really tragedy , you need to take care many things, make up strange title, make up strage meta content, make up strange URL... Crazy!)

Do you have a site map?

If so, you could put the hard-wired link on that page (not hidden but visible).

If not, they are very handy for both robots and humans - they do not have to have every page - just the main ones.

You're unlikely to get banned for the odd hidden link here and there, but it's not OK in the sense that your page should be designed for people, and anything which is there (such as a hidden link) just for search engine crawlers is cheating. There are no two ways about this. You will maybe get better advice than I can give you about the likely technical effects on Google rankings, penalties, bans, etc, but cheating is cheating and the more it happens the more it's required for it to remain effective, and in the end the strategy (if that isn't too grand a word for it) will be self-defeating.
