Suggestions for Google

Ages ago, I began a thread of suggestions for Google. I don't think anything much came of them, but perhaps with the IPO behind them, Google might take some ideas into consideration. I'll begin.........

For some time now, Google has been using fuzzy matching of words (postal, posting, etc.) and this was extended to included synonyms (carpet, rug, etc) however, there is no option (that I am aware of) for users to suggest new synonyms. Obviously, they could not be added automatically and would require approval but I'm sure this would help produce better search results.

For instance, I'm looking for laptops that include trackpoint devices. However, "Trackpoint" is a trademark belonging to IBM therefore, companies such as Dell, HP, etc, use other names such as "Dualpoint" and "Pointstick". As an experienced user, I know how to search for these too, but only if I know all the synonyms.
