Anyone has an established site (over 1 year) that bounce up and down in Google SERPs significantly for the last 30 days? (Bouncing between 1 to 100)

Yes & No. It's been something that has puzzled me for some time. I track a number of keywords for my website as well as for our major competitors.

My rank for keyword1 is rock steady at #1 since January. The same keyword1 for CompetitorA goes to top 20 for 2-3 weeks then non-existant for a few weeks then back again.

I get a similar pattern for my keyword2, top 30 then no where, then top 20, then no where, etc.

And yet, keyword2 for CompetitorB is steadily in the top 5 always.

Our website is pretty static as are the competitor's sites. It's a mystery to me.

Haven't had time to do any detailed analysis but there's definetly a recurring pattern since the beginning of the year.

Sorry, should have added. Our website has been around since 1996. Competitor's sites are also several years old.

Yes, but not just for the past month. This has been going on regularly since Jan. 2004. I have two clients that sell poker chips... one goes up within the top 20 and a couple weeks later it drops to 100-120. This happens with regularity to both sites and then once in awhile they just disappear for a week or so.

I have asked repeatedly for assistance from Google and I do not think there are any humans really there. Nothing major has changed during these fluctuations and Google responds every time with a form letter "Sounds like regular indexing". Then the form letter says DON'T WORRY? Sure, they hurt our businesses income and we should not worry.

The first site has been online since 1997 and the other since 2001. We have worked hard to optimize & update content (without over doing it) and for years they have ALWAYS been listed in the top 10-20 sites. Never had any problem until last Nov. and then total chaos from January on.

I am ready for Google to go down the tubes as Yahoo did years ago when they demanded we pay them or else.

Why does Google operate in such secrecy? I guess we should thank Google for treating the loyal supporters like this. I do not recommend anyone using them any longer. When I need to find good results, I use Teoma now.
