When I do a Google search "link:www.mysite.com" Google now lists only 408 links to our site, whereas a few weeks ago it was listing about 3000. The same search on [alltheweb.com...] yields 3000. BTW, my ranking on Google has not been affected. It even approved! Comments?

A month or so ago the backlinks on Google switched to total bizarro crap links for the most part. Nothing changed in the serps, and all the backlinks are still there, (i.e. the PR4 and above links), G just doesn't want to show them to us, for reasons known only to themselves. It's a disgrace, honestly, and they might as well just scrap the link: command. It will probably all change again soon, so for the time-being just ignore it.

This is a very common activity followe by google during every backlink update.Google will slash done many backword liks from showing. This harldy makes any diffrence in the SERPS ranking however. The reason why Google does so is not known.
