There is no legit reason for Google to have banned the domain.
Getting a human response from Google is not possible.
My question is- should I tranfer my site content to the .net domain as opposed tot he .com version it's on now?
I have a fair share of branding over the past 6+ months.
I have a lot of type in users.
All of the content is web forum based except 3 static HTML pages.
The forum content is SE friendly and url's are all .htm pages.
It would take some work, but it seems that it could languish for a very long time if Google is treating my domain as an exired domain.
Is moving the site to the .net version of the domain a solution to getting the site back into Google?
Should I wait another 2 weeks and give Google a month to figure the ban was a 'glitch'?
TIA

Question: What happened immediately before you were banned? In the 1-3 days before, did you add any outbound links? Did you change your hosting structure at all? Change settings in your bot file? Server go down for a period? Whilst G does have a few bugs resulting in sites being banned for no reason, this is rare.
Have you watched the bot activity over the period it was banned until now? Are they still visiting at the same rate?
If you added a link to a dubious site, remove the link and you should find yourself listed again in a matter of days.
Wrt migrating your site - you're going to face the new site "sandbox" issue (that the links to your domain will be "sandboxed/ignored" for a period of about 9 weeks). So you won't see listings for a while unless your keywords are obscure and uncompetitive.
Google currently treats subdomains as different website so if you've been banned there is no reason why you couldn't just change the site from www.example.com to www1.example.com with a re-direct from www.example.com to the www1 domain for you current customers. This would mean you don't lose any customers, your website name or the inbound traffic from other sites that link to you (you can even pass PR if you do a little bit of server work).
This may be easier and more credible to your current customer base than shifting domains.
Anyone able to back up this theory yet?

The only thing that happened 4 days prior to being banned was that I changed registrars which required me to remove the domainsbyproxy service I was using.
Did you change your hosting structure at all?
Nope.
Change settings in your bot file?
Nope.
Server go down for a period?
Nope.

That doesn't make me feel much better. :(

So did you change IP address at all? If so, do you share your IP? If you share, then it's possible that another site on your IP is banned and you're being painted with a tarred brush.
I'd recommend your taking advice on this and being explicit with that person about exactly what it was that you did.
I don't understand the above. :) Be explicit with who? I did nothing except transfer the domain from 1 registrar to another. It was always my domain. I just changed registrar's.
domainsbyproxy hides your WHOIS info. Google was fine with this.
When I tranferred the domain I had to remove that service (which many ppl use) which I did.
Other than that- I made no actual changes to anything on the site or links, etc...
