while searching on google i made this query [google.com...]

I found Google itself is at 7th position.

Remember somebody posted here long time back that while you search KW www on google it should arrange site in order to relevence of their PR.

if this is true, they why Google itself at 7?

I'd say it's a matter of degrees - ie Google thinks it's the 7th most authoritative PR10 site around.

Perhaps more links to Yahoo use the domain as anchor text than links to Google therefore making it more relevant to 'www'.

If you search for 'com' Google is even lower!

PR is not the only factor. On page factors matter too and the word 'WWW' appears on the Yahoo Page (Under Computers & Internet) whereas on the Google page it does not.

But is it not suprising that rather vague search for "WWW" brings up something that you might not expect? I mean, I don't even know what to expect apart from maybe www.www.com?

PR is not a silver bullet, and I would expect it to still produce relevant results out of a heap of irrelevant matches.
