Spidered and Then Dropped

Wierd Google indexing.

Ok, I just launched a brand new, quite niche site...5000 ish pages. I acquired off friends a lot of links from their whole sites.....about 3k ish....

google has come in indexed loads of pages....they rank well....then they are dropping out of the index. then google comes back in....spiders *more* pages......indexes them.....then drops them.

thing is, i've never seen google index....drop...index more...drop em...etc etc

I got a sneaky feeling i triggered the sandbox by being greedy with my links?

anyone else observed this behaviour from G on new sites lately?
