Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if Google will penalize a site if I put an article on it that already exists on another web site.

Before, I thought sharing your articles in exchange for a link to your site was a valid practice, but now I am not sure.

Thanks for your ideas!

What about preparing a revision of your original document that you make available to partner sites?

Same meaning, but reworded in such a way that it is not seen as too similar by the search engines.

Perhaps you could make an overview and analysis of your article available to partner sites and then link back to read the more detailed original on your own website.

Not as long as there is a decent amount of different text/links/etc on the two pages. I don't imagine the two pages will be identical... they'll be in different templates at least.

To be on the safe-side, as mentioned above, you could do a bit of a rewrite in one version. You won't have to change much.

How brilliant... why didn't I think of that?

Thank You!
