Hi,
I am a webmaster of a greetings site hosted on free netfirms server having a page rank of 5 and 200 backward links. Now I am thinking of hosting my site into a paid server based in Houston,TX,
Just wanted to ask, whether this will bring effect to my site's PD increase/decrease and any other fields.
Any comments would be appreciated.

I switched Web Hosts and coordinated the launch of redesigned site accordingly. My PR stayed the same, and my SERP increased dramtically because the site had very focused SEO.

I think search engines are tracking your domain name, and they wouldn't notice the new IP from the host. It might be in your best interest, however, to make sure all the backlinks are still valid. (they shouldn't change simply by changing hosts..)

There was a time when moving a domain from virtual to virtual name-based hosting was causing problems, but it doesn't seem to be lately - not Google, anyway. I just did it recently without a problem (except for losing a few pages physically in the process) - no indexing problems at all. If it's a domain name an extra measure of security is to have a unique IP and set up a link from a frequently spidered page to the IP number.

Jeff, is your site one of their subdomains or a domain name?
