Cross Linking - Sites w. Same Topic but dif. Content

Will this get me in trouble

I recently came in contact with a site that focuses on a niche topic identical to mine.

We both review products i this niche but I have sreviewed some products he hasnt and he has reviewed some that I haven't. We also have reviews of the same products as well, but not identical, obviously.

We recently started linking to eachtoher. If he reviewed a product I hadnt reviewed yet, I create a page for it and then put a little blurb and a link to his review. He did the same for me on his site. When we both reviewed the same product we put links to eachother at the end.

My question is: will this get me in trouble with google? It is obvious to me that this would do nothing but benefit our visitors but Ive seen google drop me for stupider things and I'm worried.

If the content is different such as the article for these reviews you should be fine, just do what you think is good for the visitors, than think about Google.
