For the past 18 months the entrance/landing page of my website was a forum main index, with a pagerank of 5 and 6000 pages listed in Google. What I would like to do now, is changing the entrance page to a different page so that the forum is not the main attraction of my website anymore. I'm afraid this change will 'harm' my Google listing, but I hope I'm wrong :)
Untill now now I've used .htaccess to redirect www.mysite.com/index.htm to www.mysite.com/forum/index.php and I want to change this to www.mysite.com/index.htm (different landing page). This new landing page has a pagerank of 1 and much less keywords....
What will google do?
