Just got done reading Brett_Tabke's excellent and informative article "Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone"

But I'm a little confused about something: when he mentions "content" is he just referring to text?

Here's an example. Suppose I want to build a site selling Retro Table Lamps. On a typical web page I'd probably have an image of the given model (compressed as much as possible, of course)next to several paragraphs of text describing the item, telling the surfer why it's the best thing since slice bread, etc. linking to the adveriser.
Is the text in this case what Brett means by "content?"

The reason for the confusion seems to be the line "...talk as little about your products and yourself as possible" This may simply mean "make it interesting to the surfer." But that's what I need to clear up.

Sorry if this question sounds a little silly, but I confuse easily!

Hi

Yes, I am sure 'content' means text on the page. The more text about the product can mean more potential searches you will appear for. Thats for the spider, the style of that text can seduce or put off a potential customer, hence don't ramble on about irrelevant stuff!
