I was shocked that I suddenly have a boost of back links, I check on them to see what they was and I saw lots of sites having a SERPs style page. They have lots of pages such as

theirdomain.com / keyword1-keyword2.html
theirdomain.com / keyword3-keyword4.html
theirdomain.com / keyword1-keyword4.html

Since they look like SERPs I thought it might be my looksmart or 7search campaign. But they are not. They are direct links to me and my competitors.

And all of these pages has GOOGLE ADSENSE posted on top! A hint come to me that there might be some tool, for them to automatically create this junk pages by entering some keywords. They tool will then search a specific search engine and save the results in different pages based on the keyword. Adsense is then embeded to the top and a linking struture is embeded at the bottom. They they post them online, hoping to have some traffic to generate some adsense revenue.

However, I don't think they can get much traffic this way. BUT, the links in their page now appear to be backlinks of many other hosts! An extra benefit would be good, but since this back links look sneaky, it might harm some innocent websites by triggering the wrong penalty.

Google adsense make me think back of the time before the DOT COM BUBBLE where I make some money from eads.com, safe-audit.com, etc. (both has gone out of business today). WHY, I have a dummie site and they allow me to be a publisher as well. I have lots of traffic, they are mostly junk traffic. That's why many advertising dollars spent witout any return and the DOT COM BUBBLE burst, share market prices for internet company like Yahoo crashed and most of my advertisers agent go out of business. Google Adsense team, please think about this.

I dont see any problem.

Google knows you cannot control someone elses website. They also know if they enforce a penalty from what other people are doing (such as linking to you) then people will use that for getting at their competition or enemies.

Thus you will only get into trouble if you link TO a "bad site", but not if a bad site links to you.

In fact, if google doesn't have a penalty for that site, you benefit from the page rank :)

Not a problem. But if Google does something because of your making noise, you'll probably lose your free one-way inbound.

I agree with this Pre-Florida but not anymore now.

The situation is getting worst everyday with many webmasters manipulating google trying to rank high. They buy links, trade heavy links, interlink heavyly ... Google has done something with the 'link scam' and that's why we see Florida. Florida is a BIG step taken towards this situation and Google is still improving on them.

Until today, most poeple still believe Florida is a Glith! It is not! it is planned mission. Remember that pre-Florida, even a kingergarden boy knows how to get a site to the top in Google (think about Google Bomb). Google want to take control on how to rank sites, not the webmasters! That's why today there is thread such as "Google Getting Harder to SEO For?" [webmasterworld.com...] in Webmasterworld.

I am not dicussing whether Google should or should not but I am talking whether Google can or cannnot. They can do what they want if they think it is nessecary even the crowds does not agree. The small group of GooglePlex make the decision. --> Just like the congress is always making up decisions that the crowd is not happy with. You think that they should not, but they can!

AI,

YOu can play it two ways - file a Google DMCA report or live with the the free backlink.

Try one of the plagiarism checking sites - they might also find sites that have scraped the serps where you appear, but the links are not linked. They are only interested in the ad revenue.
