You will need to get some incoming links to your site in order to get your site some PR. Updates normally occur every 3 - 6 weeks.

A good starting place is the Google Knowledge Base [webmasterworld.com]

Pagerank is a score awarded to any web page based on inbound links that point to the mentioned page. If you have no inbound links pointing at your pages then you will not receive any pagerank. The best thing you can do is work hard on acheiving links to your pages. The most common method for doing this would be submitting to web directories. Find as many as you can and add your site to them.

Brett wrote a great article a while back that explained the principles of ranking well in Google. It is called "Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone" you can read it here...

Hope this helps.

Thx a lot for all the advices.
Actually i joined a few of link exchange programs and started to exchange links with other webmasters.
Do you guys think i am doing the correct things?

Submit to the Open Directory(dmoz.org) and focus on getting relevant incoming links.

The two you need to look at are Yahoo! and Google for now.

For directories I suggest you submit to...
Joeant.com - Free
Dmoz.org - Free
Yahoo! - May not be free

You should also look for directories that are for your market.

Be careful about joining link exchange programs, some people are totally againist them, but some programs are better than others. Problems with unrelated links and spamming on some.

Be careful about link exchange programs. Most of them are link farms. I may be wrong but I don't think the incomming link will hurt or help you. If you have an outbound link to a link farm that could hurt you.

Courious about other openions here.
