Google Results Display Problem

That google says it displays 10 results on each page, but does it?

I have seen some results pages only showing 5 websites, but with two pages shown from each website. I would just prefer the most relevant page from that website, not the second most as well. So we get 10 results all from different websites.

In my experience the tendency is that those kinds of SERPs are very seldom for competitive search terms. The less competitive a search term is the more often you will see SERPs where one website is represented with more than one page. In my opinion the problem is very small.
