when you've a site banned is it a bad idea to put a 301 redirect to a new domain to save the PR of the banned domain?

IMHO it isn't a good question.

The point of getting a new domain is to start over with a clean slate. Why would you want to start out with something tainted?

Nuff said?

yes ok to start with a new site, I agree. But sometimes it happens that you lost a site with hundreds of good backlinks from hundred of different sites (it's my case). at the same time I know that on some domain I'm a bit "border link" with the SEO.

So the question: could be fine to save acquired links (in long long time) with a 301 redirect to a fresh domain?
