I heard a lot of rumours that this could be a no no with Google, especially since I didnt bother to get a domain name either. And yet somehow it has made it to the number one position on Google for my three, two word, search preferences, and is well on the way to making it to number one for my fourth.
On all ten of my three word search preferences it ranks one! I am now getting more visitors to that one site that any of my others combined. But heres the weird bit...
Google seems to be indexing that one index.html page every four hours, maybe more, I'm not sure. No sooner do I change the title, or some text in the body and it suddenly shows up on Google. Its as though the sites sitting on Googles own server.
I can virtually manipulate what Google will do with it by the hour. The really strange bit is, Google never makes it past the index.html page.
Frankly I'm getting a bit paranoid that it's some big mistake and eventually Google will find out and it will drop down to 100th or something.
Bear in mind that this is a commercial site in a very competitive market, there are 460, 000 other sites that have gone all out with every se enhancement they can think of, and this free site with the domain <snip> is beating them all.
Plus, its only been online for three weeks! Is there something strange going on here, or are other people experiencing the same behaviour. I almost wonder if Google is giving preference to a free site, because it doesnt look commercial, and that usually webmasters of free sites don't bother doing all the search engine optimisation I have done.
