I'm getting more and more requests for link exchanges with good complementary sites. I'd also like to link out to more sites that offer good resources...but I'm getting more and more concerned about potentially getting penalized months or years later--->simply because there is no way for me to predict what those webmasters will do with their sites, or if they will sell them to someone who will later engage in blackhat seo. I'm thinking that perhaps I should protect myself by setting up a second site and domain whose primary purpose is to carry my outbound links. In other words, a user would go to my links page, only my links page would be on other domain (for example,my site could be www.blahblah.com and the links page could be on www.blah-blah.com). Would this be sufficient protection and would this sound illegit to anyone? I don't see anything wrong with it because I don't carry outbound links to give PR to anyone, therefore I wouldn't be cheating anyone. Those I link to simply want traffic as a result of their link being on my site, or rather found through my site. Opinions?
