Search for www.xyz.com shows www.abc.com/def.htm

Is it so simple to knock out your competitors?

I read a post about high PR page that does a META refresh to another site takes on that site, a couple of days before.

But now my site that had PR6 and ranking high for competitive phrases is replaced by a PR3 sub-page that is redirecting to my homepage. A search for my homepage shows that sub-page that does not belong to me. Even the link: command shows the back link to that sub-page, notwithstanding hundreds of links my site has.

Is it so simple to knock out your competitors' sites?

Help much wanted.

Thanks
Mc

If it's replacing your site in the SERPs, aren't people being redirected and arriving at your page anyway if they've set it up to redirect?

No Marcia. Now my site has taken on the PR and backlinks of that redirecting page which is PR3 and just one backlink. Search for my site www.abc.com shows the URL of that page and its backlinks. My site which used to rank at 3 for a competitive phrase is no more within top 1000.

Thanks
