301 redirect

after reconstructing a site?

I have created a few subwebs, and moved a few slightly off-site topic pages to these subwebs.

What is the more advisable method?
1. Putting 301 permanent redirect on the old pages

2. Leaving it as is, and let Googlebot find the new pages through links?

What are the pros and cons? (I know that Yahoo! has big problems with 301 redirects..)
