I am planning on launching a new e-commerce site, but I am not sure the right way to go about it, since I had a bad experience with a site that was started a couple of months ago. It got a pr5 but the pages are not indexed yet (google comes now and then crawls it, but nothing happens). I guess this is the sandbox effect. So I do not want to do the same mistake with yet another site, get it lauched and then wait forever. Since the new site is a purely ecommerce site and the owner has another counterpart site which is informational but on the same topic as the e-commerce site, I was wondering if it is better to add the ecommerce site as an extension of the informational site. Does google penalize sites that are both informational + e-commerce? I am confused, please help! (The info site has a page rank of 6 and although it has fallen in serps for many keywords after florida, at least it is re-indexed by google perodically). Appreciate any help.
