When you look at Google listings it tells you the size of that particular page .. for example 20k.

What's the best size for this to be around, does anybody have an idea?

We have pages up to 60/65 k ranking among the top ten in the SERPS (the size is enterely due to large text).

From my experience (within reason) size is not nearly as important as your "text to code ratio". Focus on trimming your code bloat and improving and lengthening your body copy.

I think it is best to keep your pages as small as possible. 20k maximim and under 10k if possible, but full of great content - tough to do, I know.

On Google it says 13k next to my listing - I take it that's text only right?

Hi mrclark,

That size is related to what you can see when you view the source of the page. It does not take into consideration any external docs that page might use i.e. style sheets or javascript etc.
