Anything happened recently in Google?

Hi Everyone. Been reading WW for a while now, very useful site, and a great community. I now need to call on you guys for some help please?

My site has been sat at ~1 happily, and has a reasonable PR or 7. Not done a great deal on the site except change the phone number. 2 days ago the site vanished from Google completely for every applicable keyword.

The site has been up 100% and it hasn't really changed that much at all regarding SEO. Anyone got any ideas on what to check please? I'm confused!

Anyway, I had this checklist already. I've been through it and none of it seems to apply at all. I've not changed any of it. Has the algo changed slightly?

Interestingly, when putting the URL into Googles search bar I get the site but no description or title coming up any more.

That indicates to me your server/site may have been down when GoogleBot came around. It knows of your site (from outside links), but not what's on your site.

It appears that a number of sites got crushed this past weekend. If you look at some of the recent threads on this board, you will notice that there are several theories (google hates "-", busted for crosslinking, etc.), but nothing definite. Many of these sites seem to have been around for awhile, ranked pretty well, had high PR, hadn't changed anything ... then blammo.

Speaking of Google..I know it's off subject but I've spent about six hours the past week after a two week absense and haven't seen Google Guy. Has he paid a visit recently?

Gee, I hope with this IPO and what he could possibly get out of won't keep him from making some timely statements about Google in general on the boards.
