I got a new idea about "blue widgets" site. I want to optimize for a keyword that is: Demand 3,000 at ****.. "blue widgets". I have the opportunity to buy a site that currently ranks #32 at google with barely any back links and a PR 4. It ranks that "high" obviously because it has been around for a while, since 2002. The cost is $2,000. I'm pretty sure I can optimize it to top 10 with back links and on page optimization. However, do you think that $2,000 will be better spent on web site development (eg: hiring people to write content and doing link exchange) or is it better to buy the domain and do all the work myself? Please advice.
