Sorry for this beginner question, but
even with the search I couldn't find an answer to this specific problem:

What is better for Google:

www.keyword2keyword.com or www.keyword-2-keyword.com or
www.keyword-two-keyword.com

Other possibilities are unfortunately not possible b/c
domains are gone.

If you're a believer in keyword-rich domain names then I would pick

www.keyword-2-keyword.com or www.keyword-to-keyword.com

If its for a commercial venture, I would suggest that you opt for the company (or store) name ... Ultimately, in the long run, brand matters more in online marketing (search engine optimisation is just part of online marketing) ... Afterall, you don't see Microsoft having a url like www.windows-is-the-best.com or Apple having the url www.windows-sucks.com ... :)

Although the above is true. If you only sell one kind of product or you sell one kind of service then you do want the keyword in the main address.

You also want to have the keywords in the address for internal pages.

www.storename.com/keyword.html
www.storename.com/keyword-to-keyword.html

Even deeper pages should have keywords:

www.storename.com/keyword/blue-keyword.html

All internal pages should have keywords in the address, but don't over do it! :)

Whether you offer a single service or run a huge corporation, it is better to have the company name as your url. Professionalism matters more in the long run ... You might feel like indulging in keyword rich domain for the short term benefits, but in the long run it isn't helpful.

Why do you think GoTo.com rebranded themselves as Overture? A marketing personnel of Overture said this was partly done to 'differentiate the company from other Web companies that share the name "go," such as old rival Go.com ... and to brand themselves'.

The benefits of building a brand is far more than the (doubtful) benefit you would receive by using a keyword rich url.

My 2 bits and something for you to think about ...

I must agree. Our website also has keywords in the main address and it was the best thing for us.

Now in saying that, I do think it depends on the field your in and the avaliblity of a domain address. A lot of the good ones are already taken.

www.keyword2keyword.com

Am I correct in saying that this is optimising for ONE keyword?

Thanks for all the answers...!

My problem is even a little more difficult:

My keyword is an assembled word e.g. penfriend

Would it be better to have
www.keywordpart2keywordpart.com

or

www.keywordpart-2-keywordpart.com

The company definetly will be called keyword2keyword.com and I will get both domains (with and without hyphen).

But which domain should I use to upload my websites?

Thanks,

Easyseb

In this instance I would use your actual brand name.

HI prem_kasera

Thanks,

I'm not sure about this but that doesn't sound right. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
