Now that flash is starting to be indexed by G, does this mean that it's 'safe' to create your site navigation menu in flash?

It's possible to embed text objects to enable SE's to 'see' the words.
Most interested to learn if anyone has experience in implementing a flash nav bar, and whether the G PR was passed through to other pages on the site as with standard CSS created nav bars.

Thanks
Calum :)

Now that flash is starting to be indexed by Google

Since when? Are you sure you're not mixing this up with google listing swf files? Can you find any flash exclusive content on google? In other words, if there is a full flash page, no html text anywhere, with only flash text, can you find that exact text string on google using
"that exact text string, long enough to make it a unique search". If you can't, flash isn't being indexed by google. Plus there would be no way to bring a user to the content in a flash site, this sounds doubtful to me.

Whether safe or not, it's _still_ stone-cold flat-line brain-dead.

You have no control over the alt-text or link text.

You have no control over what Google may decide later NOT to do with Flash.

You may cut off other spiders (inktomi? MSN, if they ever get their act together? etc.) that handle Flash differently, if at all.
