RDF Metadata

I know that Google ignores metadata by META tags, but I wonder if Google pays any attention to the RDF metadata attached or inlined to an HTML document.

I'm not thinking just at Dublin Core labels, but at richer semantics; ie. referring (about) keywords not by english word, but with URIs from WordNet ontologies, etc...

Various techniques for linking RDF to HTML are described at

I wonder if this is still in academical domain.

Is any SE investigating the Semantic Web dream?
