When did Google last do a FULL update & when is another one scheduled?

I have seen a few PR updates in the last month and a half but NO full update. Occassionally, I will see a small change which I guess is the EverFlux but nothing that shows a full update. I got a website crawled and placed in the index within a day and a half but it has been found in the SERPS but that one is an extremely new site. But, my other site has a PR6 and has grown from a PR4, to a PR5 and now a PR6 but it never appears in the SERPS. WHY? When is your best guess of when Google will do a FULL UPDATE again? Some time back in this forum I commented I believed that Google was in a new era, which I dubbed the "continuous update" one. Before the did a full reshuffle of the whole index every month or so. It looks to me now that they just fold in various algo factors on a rolling basis, and not all at once.

Some of the SERPs that interest me change on a daily basis - so I'd say it's a matter of perspective.

My site has gone from a pr3 to pr5 and stayed at pr5 for about 2 months so far but i don't see it anywhere in the google serps.

I liked monthly updates because it gives you some hopes that maybe you'd do well in the next update or so. Seeing the same sites in top ten for the past 2-3 months with little changes does really bore me.

I have heard new sites aren't appearing on the search? theres a delay somewhere and thats where 2 of my sites ly so really im not that happy.

Well,
This week, one of my sites that had 80k pages listed on google, had it cut down to only 40k pages.

Another site that had 25k pages, now has only 10k.

I call it an update. And a bad update for me :-(

One of my newer site had 200k pages listed till yesterday, but at the moment it shows only 40k pages. I tried all the datacenters and its same all over.

i get freshbot updates daily, deep crawl every two weeks.. my site is in google and showing results of a crawl from last week, definately not stale....

Every 3 to 5 weeks or so, there is a "backlinks update." This is an update of the backlinks that google shows for your site (using the "link:" command).

As to when google internally updates the backlinks and gives your site "credit" for the increased or decreased PR: I don't think anyone here really knows for sure when that happens - or if it happens on an ongoing basis or not. Well, if anyone knows, they're not saying.

Full update?

I add pages every day or two and they get crawled and show in the index within 2-4 days. All the PR5 =/+ pages get crawled every couple of days. Older pages under PR5 get crawled every couple of weeks.

It's a rolling update these days. There is no particular full indexing that happens at once. The IPO might be a crock, but the perma-freshbots are very cool.

Yup, for exisitng domains it's remarkable how fast new pages get indexed and ranked.

Try getting a new domain fresh bump though, it's pretty rare. The bottom line is that new stuff for the most part is not scoring and hasn't for 90 days and more.

If you change the last updated date on all your pages won't this tempt the bot into doing a crawl?

Full updates may be a thing of the past, but I expect SERPS for my site to be permanently updated (not everflux or whatever) within a few days.

For what it's worth, I thought there was a decent size update three or four weeks ago - but I don't waste my time looking for that which may not exist and over which I have no control anyway.

FWIW, Gbot has been hitting my sites so hard it almost took one down. Not unusual for that sort of activity to preceed something significant, but in the post-FL world, who knows? Not me.

We're all seeing fresh data folded in regularly, pr updated occasionally, and slight changes in the serps, but what we haven't seen in a while is a noticeable algo shift. We've got to be due for something like that soon. I'm going to go out on a limb here. We will have a major shift soon, I'm talking more than minutes, less than years.;)

I'm going to stick my neck out, way way out, and say I don't think that Google will risk a major algo change in the run up to flotation (IPO). They really don't need any more bad publicity.

It has become seriously boring watching the Serps in both google and yahoo these days.

I areas I have an interest in there is a whole lot of no movement. I kind of miss the shake ups.

Btw, just checked "site:domain.com" for tons of important sites and noticed almost all of them having lots of pages missing (around 30%). I keep a list of the pages crawled for many important sites and thats how I know.

I've noticed that Google seems often to take one step back before taking two forward (or backward or sideways or up and down and shaking it all about). I think the missing pages will return in a few days, possibly with a major shake-up, but I would expect the captain of the Star Ship Google, NCC1666-A, to have given the order "Steady as she goes".

Any historians amongst us?
