We have a client with a bunch of old domains, all of which were to be consolidated under one new domain.
Originally we had used url re-direction to point traffic to the new site .. We've since changed this to 301 redirection, as a result of advice on these forums.
When I looked in google, I found that pages on the new site had been indexed under the old domain, instead of the new.
i.e. Instead of finding newdomain.com/section_a/index.html
I can only find
olddomain.com/section_a/index.html
Is this a result of the original method of re-directing? And is there anything I can do to rectify this .. At the moment we are in the awkward positon of having no search results for the new domain name ..
Thanks
