I have a website with a PR4 but in serps i have no title or description.
the site was doing very well in serps for its first month or so, but then it vanished and google stopped visiting.
i presumed i had something on the site it did not like, i redesigned the complete site from scratch and managed to get some inbound links and a DMOZ listing, well 3 months past and google returned and had a crawl but nothing come of it, its now over 5 months and google still has my old index page in cache (5 months old) and has dropped the other few pages and PR. the problem is i have another site which is doing very well with google and is crawled daily and i dont want the same problem happening with this one.
Can anyone help please.
What you're describing is an every day occurence for the past months and has been discussed at length. Some discussions are going on about it right now.
Best thing is to start at the Google News Forum main page and work your way down reading through all the discussions that are about the very things you're describing
