Google is so creative at times!

Just saw the logo on Google celebrating Earth Day. Living in Montana, I can really "relate" to this tastefully done and nice looking logo!

Seems that #1 in the SERP is down for the moment. And I doubt that it is *my* link that gives them trouble. :) Guess that it can be a mixed blessing to be that close to Google's logo.

The last time that they done some thing like this with their logo, the number one site was hit so hard they had to put a page up saying their site is unavailable due to being number one on Google and that they would have like Google to warn them first!

Wondering if they include their Google-logo-attraction-visitors-traffic numbers when presenting their performance data to the fincncial community prior IPO ;-)

Maybe they should consider a special IPO logo where folks can auction the initial share price:

I wonder how many millions of visitors google is sending that site, or at least trying. I bet there were expecting higher traffic for today, but not nearly that much.

If Google did give them a few days warning, what could they have done, maybe a server upgrade or stripped images off the site? No ordinary server would be able to handle that kind of traffic.

It might be good to remember that there are differing opinions as to which day is the real Earth Day. Does this logo mean that Google have made their choice?

(The other option is Equinox.)
