Guys,

Everyone talks about linking and do this and that.

Well, i realised after much experimentation

There is only 1 way to get a high PR.

1. Get as many pages to link to you as possible. Concentrate on PR 4+ Sites which a minimum of 20 outgoing links from that page. Any sites with PR 7+ with the right content are gold dust.

To get high search engine rankings there are only 3 ways:

1. Make sure the pages which link to you have the anchor text as the keyword you wish to rank highly for.

2. You site has appropiate content, and lots of it.

3. Your meta tags are in place, with clean web site code.

and finally to make money from your transactional web site there are 5 more things

1. Provide a good range of niche products or services

2. Have good sales copy

3. Collect email address's, opt in only

4. Stay in touch with your customers and prospects by email.

5. Make sure you have a good website (i.e designed well to navigate and looks profesional)

The blueprint above is not exhaustive but works well as the underlying basics to a profitable online venture.

Goodluck and let me know what you guys think are the keys to success online.

This is all fine and dandy, but a PR 7 is not as easy as you make it sound.

Abreviated Version:

Step 1) Buy a link from a PR8.

Doesn't work, :( tried that...it takes its own time. You need to only work hard on links. Thats it!

I bought a link from a PR9 and ....nada

Anyway - step 1 is the only factor above which will have any effect on your pagerank. The content of your site only helps by attracting links, but in itself has no PageRank value.

I got to PR6 in a week from buying a link.

I must say though that PR doesn't really seem to have the value that people make out to have..

PR helps but is no silver bullet. The keyphrase in your title does more than PR does for instance.

honestly...my thoughts on PR...
it's nothing more than a scheme by google to keep interest in their search engine. that's all. and we've all become pawns in the game. SERPS prove it!

- but then again, that's just my personal opinion =)

Page rank will only "convert" over to your site if google decides that the page linking to you is related.

For example, I am a DMOZ editor, and have a high PR "profile" page. I linked to my new electronic music site from that and only PR2 converted over from PR6 :(

I bet if I add all kinds of "music related" stuff in my profile I could boost that up to a 5.

Then again, page rank is all moot if your PAGE doesn't RANK for your target keywords. It's all about the actual ranking, isn't it, not the little green bar.

Thanks but I don't want PR7. My PR5 pages are getting beaten by PR2-3 pages, if I get PR7 and still get beaten by those pages (I have a feeling that I would) then it would be quite embarrassing.

Please give us hints on how to rank higher than Amazon.;)
