Amazon sponsored sites showing as a SERP?

is this new?

I was just checking some SERPS and found a new one for me. Regional Made Widgets returns an amazon page.

Beneath "Customers who bought this book also bought..." is a section "Customers interested in [this book about widgets] may also be interested in..."

Followed by sponsored links.

Sponsored Links are advertisements that Amazon.com provides to you. We receive Sponsored Links from Google's AdWords service

Is this new, or have I been slow on the uptake?

I am going to bump this. Just to clarify, this was not a book that triggered the SERP. This was a very specific search, and when looking for the words highlighted in the cache page they only showed under the sponsored links.

I had not seen this before

This seems significant to me. Proper AdWords copy can potentially get listings in the non-paid SERPs indirectly via amazon.

Not to mention that it struck me as pretty irrelevant

There seams to me a lot of interaction between Google and Amazon lately. Especialy with new new (beta) amazon SE.

I saw this about a year ago for one of the ads that I run. It brings more revenue to Google, but it will screw up the serps because high PR sites running Google ads will start ranking high based on the advertisements they run.
